The Ethereum project came alive on this very day, when 8893 addresses participated in its presale and were given tokens in the genesis block. This period, known as its "Thawing" phase, enabled miners to start their operations and adopters to install their clients without having to "rush".

To pay homage to the earliest supporters of Ethereum, EtherPOAP will airdrop 8893 NFT collections to the original 8893 crowdfunding addresses of Ethereum's genesis block.

The Bellatrix Upgrade brings Ethereum's consensus layer into a state that is ready to merge. It is scheduled for epoch 144896 on the Beacon Chain.

The rest of the limited NFTs are available to anyone who is a supporter of the Ethereum 2.0 ecosystem to mint at no cost. Holders of the NFT are eligible to participate in the subsequent raffle events of The Merge.

The Paris Upgrade is scheduled to happen after the Bellatrix Upgrade. The Paris specification corresponds to the execution layer changes associated with Ethereum's transition from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake.

Ethereum will have fully transitioned to a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. EtherPOAP will debut the ETH2.0 Badge for players to obtain and participate in more reward campaigns.

Held approximately 6-12 months after the Bellatrix Upgrade, the Shanghai Upgrade is expected to enable holders of staked ETH to start withdrawing their stake in accordance with the mechanism set in place by the Ethereum Foundation's developers.
